What application-focused actually means
Most resin suppliers sell from a catalogue and leave the formulator to work out the fit. We start from the other end. Before recommending anything, we want to know the substrate and its treatment, the process and line speed, the drying or curing capacity available, and what the coating has to survive once the product is in service.
That is not a sales conversation — it is the technical information that determines whether a binder will work. A polyurethane optimised for adhesion behaves differently in the reel than one optimised for block resistance. A UV oligomer that cures beautifully on a rigid panel cracks on a film that has to flex. These trade-offs are real, and the only way to resolve them is against a specific application.
