Advanced Specialty Resins & Coating Solutions

Key facts

  • Polyurethane, acrylic and UV resin technologies for gravure, flexographic and other printing ink formulations.
  • Platforms covered: solvent-based, water-based and UV-curable ink systems.
  • Binder roles addressed: pigment wetting, adhesion, film formation, gloss and rub resistance.
  • Development support: viscosity and solids optimisation against the customer's press and drying conditions.

A printing ink is only as good as the binder holding it together. The resin determines how well pigment disperses, how the ink transfers and lays down, how quickly it sets, and how the printed film behaves once it leaves the press.

CoatPro Innovations develops resin and binder technologies across all three major ink platforms. Polyurethane binders for solvent-based gravure and flexo inks, where adhesion and flexibility on packaging films are the controlling requirements. Water-based acrylic emulsions for ink makers converting to water-based systems. And a full set of UV-curable technologies — PU-acrylate, epoxy acrylate and amino acrylate — for energy-cure inks where speed, hardness and surface performance all have to be achieved at once.

We work with ink manufacturers rather than around them. Solids content, viscosity profile, dilution behaviour and compatibility with your existing pigment concentrates and additives are all things we can adjust during development.
