Advanced Specialty Resins & Coating Solutions

Key facts

  • Application-focused specialty coating solutions for flexible packaging, textile, leather and industrial markets.
  • Products are customised around substrate, process and end-use requirements.
  • Cure routes available: solvent-based, water-based and UV-curable.
  • Developed through our seven-step custom development process rather than supplied from a fixed catalogue.

Not every requirement maps onto a standard product family. A converter with an unusual substrate, a finisher with a line constraint, or a manufacturer with a performance target nobody's catalogue grade quite meets — these are the situations this category exists for.

CoatPro Innovations develops application-focused specialty coating solutions for flexible packaging, textile, leather and other industrial markets. Products can be customised around substrate, process and end-use requirements. That customisation is real: we adjust the resin chemistry, the solids and viscosity, the cure route and the additive package around what your line and your end use actually demand.

The areas we cover are flexible packaging, textile coatings, leather coatings, industrial surfaces, and customised performance requirements. The starting point is always the same short set of questions — what is the substrate, how will the coating be applied, what cures or dries it, and what does the coating have to survive in service. From there our seven-step development process takes it through laboratory formulation, application testing, customer trials and scale-up.

If you have a requirement that does not fit neatly into one of our technology families, this is the right place to start the conversation.

What this technology delivers

  • Flexible packaging

Coating solutions for film-based packaging structures and converting processes.

  • Textile coatings

Finishing and coating systems balancing performance against hand feel.

  • Leather coatings

Base, pigment and top coat systems for appearance and durability.

  • Industrial surfaces

Coatings for metal, plastic, wood and composite substrates.

  • Customised performance

Developed against your specification rather than selected from a catalogue.

About Specialty Coatings

Ask a technical question

Anything where a standard grade does not fit — an unusual substrate, a line constraint, a performance combination that is hard to reach, or a regulatory requirement that shapes the formulation. If you are not sure which of our technology families fits, start here.

It depends on how far the requirement sits from an existing platform and how quickly trial feedback comes back. A grade adjustment against an existing technology moves quickly; a genuinely new system takes longer through laboratory screening, application testing and scale-up. We give a realistic timeline once we understand the requirement.

Four things: what you are coating (substrate and any pre-treatment), how you apply it (process, line speed, coat weight), what cures or dries it (oven temperature, UV type, drying capacity), and what the coating has to survive in service. The more specific you can be, the faster the first recommendation.

Yes. Steps five and six of our development process are customer trial support and formulation optimisation. Laboratory results and line results diverge often enough that trial support is not optional.

Commercial terms including quantities are discussed once the development reaches a supply stage. The laboratory and trial phases are handled as sample quantities.

Exclusivity and confidentiality arrangements are agreed case by case before development begins. Raise it early in the conversation if it matters to you.
