Polyurethane Binders for Printing Inks
Solvent-based PU binder systems for gravure and flexographic inks
Applications
Binders and coating resins for film-based packaging
Flexible packaging puts more demands on a binder than almost any other print application. The same ink film has to wet a low-surface-energy treated film, stay flexible through slitting and pouch forming, survive lamination or heat sealing, and still look right on shelf.
CoatPro Innovations supplies polyurethane and acrylic binder technologies developed specifically around these constraints. Our polyurethane binders are formulated for solvent-based gravure and flexographic inks where adhesion to treated films and post-print flexibility matter most. Our water-based acrylic emulsions serve converters moving toward water-based processing without giving up film formation or surface appearance.
Because substrate and process vary so widely across converters, we treat flexible packaging as a development problem rather than a catalogue problem. Tell us the film, the treatment level, the press, the drying capacity and what happens downstream, and we can recommend or develop a binder around that specific combination.

Tell us the substrate, the process and what the coating has to survive. That is usually enough for a specific recommendation.
